Let’s take a closer look at the Gingrich implosion since his South Carolina win.  Rasmussen’s latest poll (out this Sunday morning) shows: Romney 44%, Gingrich 28%.

Let’s take a gander at the last three polls to see what’s happening here:

January 23, 2012

Likely Voters Male Female
Romney 32% 30% 34%
Gingrich 41% 45% 35%
Santorum 11% 9% 13%
Paul 8% 9% 6%
Other 0% 0% 1%
Not sure 9% 8% 11%

This poll was just after Gingrich’s big win in South Carolina.

But days later we see the Romney groundwork and prowess in Florida going to work!

January 25, 2012

LVs Change Male Change Female Change
Romney 39% 7% 35% 5% 44% 10%
Gingrich 31% -10% 33% -12% 28% -7%
Santorum 12% 1% 13% 4% 11% -2%
Paul 9% 1% 9% 0% 8% 2%
Other 4% 4% 5% 5% 3% 2%
Not sure 7% -2% 6% -2% 7% -4%

The male GOP voter is an interesting bunch (I’m one of them) but they absolutely abandoned Newt in just a few days.  Romney ads were in full force and the tame NBC debate stunted the Gingrich coliseum debate meme.

Now, just 3 days later and after the huge debate win for Romney on Thursday night we see the numbers moving even more:

LVs Change Male Change Female Change
Romney 44% 5% 46% 11% 41% -3%
Gingrich 28% -3% 30% -3% 26% -2%
Santorum 12% 0% 8% -5% 16% 5%
Paul 10% 1% 13% 4% 7% -1%
Other 1% -3% 0% -5% 1% -2%
Not sure 5% -2% 3% -3% 8% 1%

Notice, Romney lost a little ground with the gentler sex but managed to totally win over the wandering male GOP voter after they left Newt.  Notice Santorum really helped himself in the second debate as well.

These numbers point to a solid win by Romney on Tuesday.

UPDATE:

I need to drill into these cross-tabs a bit more but here’s the breakdown by age.  The middle-aged GOPer, who has been been the thorn in the side of Romney for months, have finally turned their trust to Romney and seem to be the big demo abandoning Gingrich. 17% of them changed their minds about Newt and nearly all went to Romney.

From January 23rd:

18-39 40-64 65+
Romney 28% 29% 40%
Gingrich 27% 44% 45%
Santorum 7% 14% 6%
Paul 19% 6% 2%
Other 1% 0% 1%
Not sure 18% 7% 6%

From January 25th:

18-39 Change 40-64 Change 65+ Change
Romney 32% 4% 37% 8% 48% 8%
Gingrich 22% -5% 32% -12% 34% -11%
Santorum 13% 6% 13% -1% 9% 3%
Paul 14% -5% 8% 2% 4% 2%
Other 6% 5% 4% 4% 1% 0%
Not sure 13% -5% 6% -1% 3% -3%

From January 28th

18-39 Change 40-64 Change 65+ Change
Romney 33% 1% 44% 7% 52% 4%
Gingrich 28% 6% 27% -5% 32% -2%
Santorum 11% -2% 14% 1% 9% 0%
Paul 14% 0% 12% 4% 3% -1%
Other 2% -4% 0% -4% 1% 0%
Not sure 12% -1% 4% -2% 3% 0%

Today, I’m excited to announce that I have accepted a position as Vice President of ElectionMall Technologies.

Press Release:
ElectionMall Hires Justin Hart as Vice President of Campaign and Business Relations, Launches Political MarketPlace Platform to Integrate Online Campaign Tools

I’ve been privileged to work within two circles of colleagues over the course of my career: leading technology innovators and political movers and shakers. I’ve stood on your shoulders and I thank you for the immense experiences you provided me.

Nothing thrills me more than to bring these two worlds together.

At the outset, when I first moved to the DC area in 1996, I was excited to satisfy my passion for politics and the Internet. I quickly found that this combination was a bit premature. I left the political scene to drive the technology end of the equation and cut my chops doing Internet consulting. I’ve worked for some amazing innovative companies and clients like WordPerfect, Baan, Proxicom, DuPont, Nextel, Comsys, Blue Cross Blue Shield, TrustedEdge and others. It would be a decade later before politicos caught up to the corporate world and realized that the Internet was more than brochure-ware.

Over the past 3 years I’ve worked the drive innovation in the political sector working with great clients like Chuck DeVore (who first convinced me to leave the corporate arena); Joe Miller, Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum and many others. Over the years I’ve used ElectionMall as my go-to firm for technology. Now, I’m proud to join their team.

ElectionMall’s vision is to allow voters to engage in democracy through technology. Our extensive offering of products and services allow candidates, organizations, and corporate policy offices to meet their goals by engaging voter, donors and advocates online. Recently, ElectiomMall announced an exclusive partnership with Microsoft to launch the Campaign Cloud, a cloud-service platform to empower our clients with their growing breadth of online needs.

My focus is to drive sales and client relations in the United States and oversee the launch and push for the Campaign Cloud in conjunction with Microsoft.

Please don’t hesitate to call me or find me online:

From the report:

Opinions about President Obama are divided sharply along lines of faith and religious participation. New Rasmussen Reports national telephone surveying of Likely U.S. Voters shows that the president earns a job approval rating of 58% among those who rarely or never attend church or religious services. However, among those who attend services every week or nearly every week, just 38% offer their approval. Among those who attend more than one service a week, approval is even lower at 31%. Looked at from another perspective, Obama earns a 31% approval rating among Evangelical Christians, a 38% rating among Catholics and approval from 44% of other Protestants. Among voters who do not claim a Christian faith, including many who claim no religious faith of any kind, the president’s job approval is substantially higher at 65%. When it comes to intensity, 32% of non-Christians Strongly Approve of the job the president is doing, while 22% Strongly Disapprove. Among Evangelical Christians, just 19% Strongly Approve and 58% Strongly Disapprove. Twenty-three percent (23%) of other Protestants and 17% of Catholics Strongly Approve of the president’s job performance. For other Protestants and Catholics, the Strong Disapproval number is 45%. Overall, among all voters, the president’s total job approval has recently been in the mid-to-upper 40 percent range. The faith gap is also found on the Generic Congressional Ballot

Rasmussen Reports is out with their latest numbers on the Iowa GOP Presidential race.  The numbers show another lead change with Romney nudging Newt 23% to 20% and Paul creeping up to 18%.

So, who gave Mitt the edge?  It turns out… the women are flocking to him!

While 14% of men abandoned Newt here in December, Romney gained 8 percentage points in the female demographic putting him at 28% with the gentile race.  Men started flocking to Paul but Romney’s numbers have remained consistent throughout.

This is insane… What are they thinking? How much do we pay to South Korea annually to protect their lives?

And they repay us with this crap?
